Heidi Schiltz, M.S., LPCCAbout Me
I have lived in the Elmore, Minnesota, area all my life. My husband, our three daughters, and I enjoy living the country life and being outdoors as much as possible. I enjoy traveling and all the experiences that go along with it. I have had the pleasure of providing mental health and other related services to individuals and families in various settings for the past 17 years, and find my truest passion lies in providing direct counseling services to those in need.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. I completed my graduate studies at Minnesota State University, Mankato, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling, with an emphasis in marriage and family counseling.

Work Experience

I have experience providing mental health case management services to children and their families and, most recently, as a mental health therapist for youth and their families in a residential setting. I have worked with older children, adolescents, and young adults primarily who struggle with mental illness, developmental disorders, chemical dependency, behavioral problems, trauma, self-harm, and attachment issues.  I also provide EAP (Employee Assistance Program) through 3M of Fairmont.

Therapeutic Philosophy
I use cognitive-behavioral based therapy, which is helping one understand how their thoughts and feelings are connected to their actions. Reasons for seeking therapy are different for everyone; providing a caring, supportive, and trusting therapeutic relationship is essential no matter the circumstance.
